Folks, i wanna share some feelings of mine about SOFTWARE ENGINEERS and ma experiences with INFY in this forum.. i may seem garrulous! so pls bear with me :)
First of all i wanna start with my training in INFY...
October 3rd.. 3:00 PM..
Maa... where is my socks.. Its getting late (Actually the train was at 8pm!! ). I was so happy and smiled and cried like a baby who doesn't know how to vent out its feelings. even though the clock was perfect with a new duracell battery,i checked it time and again as it seemed moving fast.
October 3rd.. 6:00PM..
Time for promises!!
My parents and my sister dint ask me for anything, but as a "nalla paiyan" who got the coveted job of software engineer(lol), i promised to buy the whole of mysore for them, even though my salary was only 10k... :)
its 6:30... its time to leave!! echoed my dad's voice!! i rushed here and there... looking and every other place to ensure that i haven't missed anything!! and looked at the mirror for one last time to make sure that i appeared perfect to give the best first impression to all the girls who will travel along with me in the train to mysore!!
folks.. here ends my happy story!!
The horror stories of "THE BATTLE FOR SURVIVAL" started in the train itself.. Deepak aka siga.. guyz, you may know him as hez also from sastra, called me and the first sentence he told me was "Machi... atleast one outta 8 is sent out from the company
during training it seems da..". I had the feeling of watching RING movie at midnight that too alone!!
October 5th.. 8:30AM..
INDUCTION HALL!!
"Welcome all to the family of Infosys.." HR was speaking.. " you are about to start your career which is dreamt by millions of students across INDIA. Period. This year the gross intake is........." suddenly i came back to my senses from rainbow dreams
when the words GROSS INTAKE rolled out.. though it was usual that, corporates alwazz talk about about gross intake, this time, those words, almost made us feel insecure about the job!
Training centre was like an army rehersal ground.. Educators, who were nice to be with, outside the campus, became martinets, the moment they entered the class room..
(folks... hereafter i wont mention time and date, as we hardly knew either of them when we were getting trained :) )
Slowly the days rolled by, everyone became everyone's friends, just to add one more person to share their fear and sorrow with :).. Even though the life at mysore was ironical, where they provided 32 inches wall hanging HD TV, but you can hardy
watch your fav song/movie, an Air conditioned room, which is seldom visited by the inmates (most of the ppl spent all their six months in our training center itself), everyone started enjoying that life.. soon it became the HOME for all of us.. frequent
birthday parties in the nights, booze parties in the weekends and a lot more made us enjoy as a family! I managed to clear all my exams and got a decent grade too.
Slowly the ultimate day seemed visible to us. it was nearly our graduation day. after that, only HR classes for ten days and no more stream training. we guyz decide to have a class party for ourself. our batch manager (charming, lovely and a b-e-a-utiful
young mallu lady ! ! ) chose 3 people to help her for arranging the party. i tried hard to be one in that lucky three, but in vain. but uck was on my way, one of the guyz whoz from chennai, wanted to go home that weekend and he dint have ticket but i had. so he got the ticket exchanged for that spot in the lucky three!!.. thats when, Jim Carrey's dialogue in the movie Ace Ventura came to my mind.. " I had a dog, and his name was BINGOO ! ! !...."
The party was amazing and we had DJ too arranged for that party!! i danced with my batch manager for some time... it was a blend of two different things which made me happy!! first of all dancing with my manager, second of all, the happiness of seeing jealousy in the eyes of some of ma friends!!
Guyz.. this is how, life went on in mysore!!
mysore taught us the SQL code for life..
"SELECT happiness FROM life
WHERE days = less and fun = more "
~cheers~
really good man.. didn't know u write so well .. keep it up.. :)
